 WinPC-NC offers advanced functions for laser control.


In addition to simple switching on and off, our software also supports precise power control via a PWM signal.

This option is used in a targeted and controlled manner in various applications.

A laser mounted on a CNC machine can be used to perform numerous tasks—from cutting a wide variety of materials to engraving grayscale images and performing simple welding applications to join different materials.

Efficient laser control with WinPC-NC

WinPC-NC enables precise control of the laser power – in most cases quite simply via PWM signal (0–100%). Many laser modules only support this method, which can be quickly configured and wired.

For optimal engraving and cutting results, WinPC-NC offers integrated calibration functions. This allows you to adjust the power, fine-tune the grayscale, and make optimal use of the laser.

Calibration features:

  • Adjustment of black, white, and medium gray

  • Optimal display of grayscale images

  • Fine-tuning of power for precise laser engraving

  • Spreading or compression of the previous linear performance curve

 

A calibration function is also available for laser cuts, which can be used to determine the optimum cutting speed and the number of cutting repetitions required for a clean and safe cut, depending on the material and thickness. To avoid burn marks and smoke marks, it is often necessary to cut at higher speeds, which in turn requires multiple repetitions. These parameters can be easily determined by performing test cuts at varying speeds and saved directly in the calibration function.

Speed-dependent power control for precise laser control

For performing laser cuts or laser engravings, WinPC-NC has a special technology function in its input dialog box, where all relevant settings are summarized and grouped together, making it very easy to make changes and adjustments.

Unique and only available in WinPC-NC is the speed-dependent power control for laser cutting or engraving. Here, the laser power is automatically reduced depending on the moving speed. When moving slowly in small radii or at corners of contours, WinPC-NC automatically reduces the laser power in the correct proportion, thereby reliably preventing burn marks and unwanted cuts
